Linguistica Coseriana X

We are delighted to announce Linguistica Coseriana X: the Tenth, anniversary edition of the International Conference inspired by Eugenio Coseriu’s work. Celebrating the thought of Eugenio Coseriu, one of the greatest minds of the Twentieth Century and creator of the Integral Linguistics paradigm of thought, this international trans-disciplinary and multilingual scientific event is an opportunity for scholars exploring various aspects of language from linguistic and trans-linguistic perspectives to present their projects and open a dialogue between different fields of knowledge (general linguistics and text linguistics, theoretical philosophy and philosophy of language, social sciences, AI, translation studies, teaching of languages, semiotics, aesthetics, etc.). 

In continuity with an already established tradition, shaped by the previous events in the series (Aix-en-Provence 2007, Cluj-Napoca 2009, Almería 2011, Udine 2013, Potsdam 2015, Lima 2017, Cadiz 2020, Zurich 2021, and Cluj-Napoca 2025), the primary aim of the current edition is the promotion and the active enhancement of Eugenio Coseriu’s scientific legacy. At the same time, at twenty years since the first edition (2007), twenty-five years since Coseriu passed away, and seventy years since the completion of his major work, Sincronía, diacronía e historia [1957], this anniversary edition of Linguistica Coseriana aims to mark a turning point, by widening the frame to welcome contributions on topics not fully or not effectively addressed by Coseriu (such as gender linguistics, the link between language and ideology, art and aesthetics, AI, sustainability, and economy, the relevance of language, in general, and of plurilingualism and multilingualism, in particular, for leading contemporary processes, such as European integration and Globalization) but which might be developed stemming from his intuitions or inspired by his thought, along with inviting a dialogue with alternative/complementary models of understanding of language and encouraging critical thought.
